NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

 CANINE INFLUENZA VIRUS

The "Canine Influenza Virus" is an influenza that was originally a horse virus but has spread to dogs and can now be spread between dogs. This virus cannot be transmitted to humans.

Some of the symptoms in dogs are: cough, runny nose and fever, however, a small proportion of dogs can develop severe disease.

There is a vaccine for this virus and we currently have it at the clinic. If you would like to get your dog vaccinated against this "dog flu", please call the clinic and schedule to get the vaccine.

 NEW PRIVACY LAW

Due to a new privacy law, if you would like to add someone to your account, please come in to the clinic and ask one of the receptionist to give you a form to fill out. We need to have a Medical Authorization filled out in order to add anyone to your account.

If a person is not on your account, they will not be able to pick up prescriptions, bring pets to appointments or drop off or pick up from boarding.

If your pet is going to be in a kennel, have a pet sitter, please let us know so we can get the correct paperwork filled out.

If your pet goes to a groomer, kennel facility and you will need records faxed, please fill out a record release.

LASER SURGERY

Our surgeries are now being done with our laser.  It is a less painful alternative for your pet. Some of the benefits of using laser surgery are: less pain, less swelling, and reduced risk of infection.

Please ask any Veterinarian about our new laser surgery.
